Setup
Install the EA from the Chart Reporter MQL5 Marketplace listing first. Marketplace installation is the preferred route because MT5 can deliver EA updates through it; manual download from your Chart Reporter account remains available if needed.
Attach the EA to a chart in your terminal and paste your Chart Reporter API key into its inputs. Chart Reporter is a reporting EA, so enabling Algo Trading is not required.
Permissions
The EA needs permission to send journal data to Chart Reporter. In MT5, allow WebRequest for https://api.chartreporter.com. It does not need your broker credentials, investor password, broker API key, or Algo Trading permission.
After setup, confirm the terminal heartbeat or first synced trade in the dashboard so you know the bridge is alive.
Troubleshooting
Check that the EA is attached, MT5 allows the required outbound request, and the account API key from Chart Reporter is configured correctly.
If the terminal is closed, the EA cannot report new activity. Keep MT5 running during the sessions you want to journal.
