The Difference
MetaQuotes' native MCP makes the terminal itself available to compatible agents. That is useful for current market data, charts, strategies, development, testing, and terminal operations.
Chart Reporter MCP does not try to replace that surface. It gives an agent a stable reporting record across trades and sessions, with a deliberately narrower read-only boundary.
The Data Path
The Chart Reporter EA pushes MT5 trade records to your private journal without an investor password or broker API key. Once captured, the record can include net P&L inputs, entries and exits, partials, stop and target levels, strategy links, tags, sessions, patterns, and screenshot metadata.
Your MCP client connects through OAuth and receives only the authenticated user's scoped data. Revoking or disabling MCP cuts off subsequent access.
Review Workflows
An agent can group performance by symbol, direction, account, day, month, strategy, or session; compare net results; inspect individual trades; and locate related screenshot records and patterns.
Use those tools to prepare weekly reviews, investigate drawdown, compare sessions, or find recurring strategy outcomes. Chart Reporter supplies evidence; the agent's interpretation still needs trader review.
Current Limits
The MCP surface is read-only and does not place or modify trades. It lists screenshot metadata but does not return image bytes directly. Chart Reporter stores journal notes in the product, but note text is not currently exposed through an MCP tool.
Those limits are intentional facts about the product today, not gaps hidden behind broad AI claims.
