Can an AI assistant read my Chart Reporter screenshots and notes?

The short answer

Chart Reporter stores screenshots and journal notes, but its current MCP tools return screenshot metadata rather than image bytes and do not return journal-note text. An assistant should not claim to have inspected an image or read a note merely because the journal contains one.

An image record is not the image

Screenshot metadata can identify an associated record, type or capture time. That can help an assistant establish that relevant media exists. It does not show the pixels, chart annotations or indicators the trader saw.

If an assistant says the screenshot shows a particular pattern, ask which image it actually received and through which authorised path. A filename, storage key or metadata response is not sufficient visual evidence. Image retrieval is separate from the current screenshot-listing MCP tool.

Storage and tool exposure are separate capabilities

A note visible in the product can remain unavailable to an integration if the tool schema does not return it. That is the current journal-note boundary for Chart Reporter's MCP surface. Do not interpret an absent field as proof that there was no note or no entry plan.

For example, a trade may have a saved explanation of an exit that the assistant cannot read. It can describe the reported exit event, but it should not replace the unseen explanation with an invented motive. The appropriate response is to identify the missing evidence and limit the conclusion.

Provide additional context deliberately

If you choose to attach a screenshot or quote a note through the assistant client's supported workflow, check that it belongs to the intended trade and does not expose credentials or unnecessary account information. State when it was captured and whether the annotation was added later.

Ask the report to distinguish tool-returned trade facts from separately supplied media and your own retrospective explanation. That provenance makes disagreements easier to resolve. As integrations evolve, verify the current schema instead of assuming a capability from the product's general feature list. A journal can retain rich context while a particular connection exposes only a subset of it.
